In Leawood, Kansas, a chance encounter in the Dallas Design District inspired homeowners to reimagine their living space with a Schmalenbach media wall. Designed to be sleek, functional, and quietly dramatic, the installation integrates an automated sliding system, concealed television, fireplace and flip-down bar transforming the living room into a modern focal point.
The project was a collaboration between interior designer Olivia Ebert of Liv Interior Designs, builder Tim Cunningham of Tim Cunningham Homes and Eggersmann designer Kegan Wilson. Together, they tailored Schmalenbach’s concept to the new residence, combining German engineering with carefully selected materials such as oak veneer, matte lacquer and steel trim.
The result is a fully integrated living room feature that balances contrast with warmth. Entertainment systems, display shelving and concealed storage are seamlessly united behind a refined, architectural exterior.
Automated sliding panels that reveal or conceal the television, ensuring the wall remains visually clean. Integrated fireplace and flip-down bar that elevate the space beyond entertainment into lifestyle luxury. Concealed storage solutions and display shelving, designed to enhance organisation while preserving the streamlined aesthetic. Each element reflects Schmalenbach’s philosophy that interiors should adapt effortlessly to everyday living while embodying timeless sophistication.
Since 1948, Schmalenbach’s wardrobes represent excellence, beauty, and durability. We ensure that our craftmanship is aesthetic, that each product fulfills what it was designed for and every detail that went into creating it, was carefully attended.
