Project Overview
Set high above the Rhine in Cologne’s sought-after Rheinauhafen district, this 340 m² duplex penthouse epitomises modern luxury. With panoramic views, private terraces and seamless indoor–outdoor transitions, the residence defines contemporary living. The design combines fluidity, height and light with bespoke materials, creating an environment that is both private and expansive.
Design & Build
The layout was conceived to encourage openness and flow, featuring double-height ceilings and natural light that moves effortlessly through the space. Schmalenbach’s craftsmanship is evident not only in the cabinetry and wardrobes but also in the subtle junctions and finishes that tie each area together.
Material choices elevate the residence far beyond convention: parquet floors, travertine stone and Muschelkalk walls provide texture and warmth, while natural-fibre wallpapers add depth. Custom-made Zebrano wood doors enhance tactility and visual richness. With three distinct interior concepts curated to individual preference, every finish is bespoke, luxurious and enduring.
